It gives me immense pleasure to extend my warm greetings to all members of the Delhi State Booksellers’ & Publishers’ Association (DSBPA) on the occasion of our 76th Annual General Meeting.
For more than eight decades, DSBPA has been an important voice of the bookselling and publishing community in Delhi. Our journey, which began in 1942, has been built on the collective strength, commitment and goodwill of generations of booksellers, publishers, distributors and other professionals associated with the book trade.
The publishing and bookselling landscape is undergoing rapid transformation. Digital publishing, e-books, online distribution, changing reading habits and emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, are reshaping the way knowledge is created, distributed and accessed. At the same time, the fundamental importance of books, libraries, reading and reliable knowledge remains stronger than ever.
As an Association, we must continue to adapt to these changes while protecting the interests of our members and upholding the values that have sustained our profession. Our priorities must remain unity, professional growth, ethical business practices, wider readership and the continued promotion of books and reading.
I firmly believe that the strength of DSBPA lies in its members. By working together, sharing ideas and supporting one another, we can address the challenges before our industry and create new opportunities for the generations ahead.
I sincerely thank all our members, office bearers and Executive Committee members for their continued cooperation, trust and valuable contribution to the Association. I also encourage every member to participate actively in the affairs of DSBPA and help us take the Association to greater heights.
Let us use this 76th Annual General Meeting not merely as an occasion to review the past year, but as an opportunity to look ahead with renewed vision, unity and determination.
Together, let us strengthen our Association, support our profession and continue to make books and knowledge accessible to all.
With warm regards and best wishes,
.
